Sili and Tinutong Ice Cream

When I planned the trip, I listed some unique food to try in Legazpi. One of those that are on my list is Sili ice cream at the 1st Colonial Grill. The nearest branch accessible from the place where we were staying is that one in Pacific Mall, so we decided to go there to try the sili-flavored ice cream which can only be found in Bicol.

The 1st Colonial Grill serves 3 unique flavors of ice cream: Sili, Tinutong, and Pili

We wanted to try those 3 flavors but a serving costs PhP 79.00 so we decided to just try 2 flavors. We opted for the sili and tinutong flavors.
Sili and Tinutong Ice Cream

Sili ice cream looks like it is strawberry-flavored because of its pink color which is common on strawberry ice cream. It tastes like vanilla-flavored ice cream but it has a distinct sili after-taste and it is spicy. Tinutong ice cream has a brown color with brown tutong bits. Bicolanos turn the tutong into coffee, which explains the strong mocha flavor of the ice cream.

A serving of the ice cream is consist of three (3) scoops. We found out later that they allow 3 scoops of different flavors per serving.. too bad, we missed that. We should have tasted the other flavors.
